Below are the approved spending categories for all students accepted into Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account program.
A qualified school is defined as a private school located in Arizona serving students in grades PK–12. The school must not discriminate based on race, color, or national origin.
A qualified individual must deliver all services. Credentials cannot be expired.
A course of study for content areas or grade levels, including any supplemental education materials required or recommended by the curriculum, approved by the Department.
Online learning programs or courses.
Advanced Placement exams and/or other exams related to college or university admissions—such as ACT or SAT— prep exams and grade-level standardized achievement testing.
Community college, a university under the AZ Board of Regents, or an accredited in-state private postsecondary institution.
Lost or stolen card fees and expediting service fees only.
Approved individual classes and extracurricular programs at a public school.
Uniforms must be purchased from or through a qualified school or vendor that the school recommends or requires.
